I am currently studying a Ph.D. in computer science, working in the NicLab research group focused on a distributed bio-inspired cognitive architecture. My main research interests are cognitive human perception, percpetual imagery, multiagent systems and artificial life, among others.
Bio-inspired model of a visual classifier system for object recognition using context priming.
Human perception has developed mechanisms for efficient functionality, for recognizing objects in the environment and associating these objects to the agent state and the environment itself, reaching a high level of cognitive functions that help humans interact with their surroundings.
We are developing a visual object classifier taking information from a context imagery. This context is constructed from visual experiences an agent have been acquiring from environment, building spatial and non-spatial data structures that help the classifier to recognize an object with a bias of the current task of the agent.
